What's Different About SMT?

Can you imagine a chemical compound that was so powerful you could dilute it 200 times more than bleach and still kill germs, bacteria and viruses at the same rate? What if this product were so safe that the FDA allowed it to be used directly on food? Imagine a product strong enough to kill E. coli, MRSA, staph and Listeria but would not have any effect on your skin? That technology exists right now.

SMT offers a pure CLO2 solution that is extremely effective at very low concentrations and carries the lowest toxicity profile. Take a look at the chart. Our task was to kill 99.999% of all staph within one minute. Then other pesticides were used to do the same thing. The difference? Look how much more pesticide was necessary when compared to SMT products.

Selective Micro Technologies passes non GLP test to kill Acinetobacter baumannii

Using AOAC Use-Dilution Test, 10 carrier screen, Selective Micro Technologies (SMT) demonstrated  point-of-use, pure chlorine dioxide successfully kills Acinetobacter baumannii. Selective Micro® testing demonstrated zero positive carriers remaining after 10 minute contact time at standard 100ppm use concentration. Acinetobacter baumannii is a gram negative  superbug, which is a pathogen that can easily thrive on inanimate surfaces for months at a time, is causing severe nosocomial infections throughout hospitals and other healthcare facilities alike. Selective Micro Technologies offers to participate in Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI) commerce sampling initiative

Selective Micro Technologies volunteers to assist with organic review personnel for test and evaluation of pure chlorine dioxide technology. Selective Micro® personnel met with U.S. Virgin Island Health Commissioner Plaskett and Island Senator Hansen for hospital mold remediation proposals. Selective Micro Technologies passes non GLP test to kill C. difficile

Using E2197 - ASTM test standard, Selective Micro Technologies demonstrated pure chlorine dioxide successfully kills c. difficile at greater than 99.9999%. The test was also conducted according to EPA registration standards using active ingredient at the lowest certified limit (LCL). Both 5 minute and 10 minute contact times were successful. Clostridium difficile is a bacterium superbug causing major problems in healthcare facilities.



Selective Micro Technologies gets updated Organic Materials Review Institute Listing.

Selective Micro now offers 5 products that are certified organic by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI). The products include EPA registered Selectrocide® pure chlorine dioxide products and FDA registered pure chlorine dioxide products. SMT introduces a new chlorine dioxide product in a 1 liter spray pouch. The CLObber® product was developed to be generated and used in a single container. The spray pouch expands when filled with water and stands up like a spray bottle.

“Many of our customers wanted a product that didn’t require dilution,” says Kevin Dearwester, VP of Development at SMT. “Another benefit to this product is it’s ready to use in 30 minutes. Just add water and you are ready to disinfect.”
