Yesterday, the Center for Disease Control announced that it expects Covid-19, the novel Coronavirus responsible for the recent pandemic, to spread once inside the United States. The virus has been discovered in 31 countries after being discovered in China. As of February 25th, there have been a total of 53 confirmed cases in the U.S., including new cases, as well as repatriated infected citizens. The CDC recommends obtaining the flu vaccine, as well as frequent and consistent hand washing, staying home if you are sick, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and face, and cover you cough or sneeze. For a list of symptoms, visit the CDC’s website here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/symptoms.html
It’s also recommended to disinfect “high touch” areas daily to prevent cross contamination. These areas can include door handles, arm rests, elevator buttons, and stair railings, among others. To disinfect, if possible, use a hospital grade disinfectant that has been tested for kill against human Coronavirus.
